Here’s a job where we installed a deadlatch with interior paddle handle, electric strike and intercom. It’s the entrance to a building with another door inside that has an electric strike and door operator which is connected to the telephone entry system.
The exterior door never had a lock installed on it when the building was built. The issue our client is having is people wander in and wait inside the foyer for someone to enter or leave the premises. They then tailgate and sneak into the building.
During the day the door is manually unlocked using the key switch which unlocks (energizes) the electric strike. At night the door is manually re-locked using the key switch which also locks out the exterior button of the door operator.
